Cozy up to Trent's content

A shorter update today- I had planned the next installment in the Why I Labor series, but there’s quite a bit of Kindle content I have to source from 😑

Here's a look at what's up ahead:

What to expect for newsletter frequency

I’m not a spammer (I hope? 🤔) and also don’t have the bandwidth to post more than once a week. I spend a decent chunk of time crafting longer-form content for this medium, but want to ensure it is consistent. The plan is to have weekly emails delivered to your inbox Sunday evening.

Why Sunday you ask?

I appreciate Jordan Raynor’s blog https://www.jordanraynor.com/blog- one of my favorite writers in the Faith & Work Movement from who I draw a ton of inspiration- and its timeliness to reflect on how we show up to work. Whether it’s Monday morning (his frequency) or Sunday night, there is something special about considering:

how may God be working through my job this week?

and praying through opportunities to glorify Him. That could look like:

  • stopping to pray for 2 minutes before each Zoom call

  • dedicating extra time to a coworker in support of his/her workload

  • starting a team or company-wide Bible study

  • going deeper than surface-level in your client meetings

  • refusing to use crude humor or careless speech in the company Slack channels (sorry those in the Fed stuck with Teams 🤣)

ORR..

Reassessing if maybe God is leading you to broaden or refine your skill set by making a career pivot..

This process of vocational discernment is going to be a continued theme here at Reformed Work. If this sounds like someone you know…share this newsletter!

Your feedback is CRUCIAL

It goes without saying any and all feedback is so so appreciated at this point in time. I’m more in the mindset of contributing to the ‘movement’ of Faith & Work rather than building a ‘business’, but in 6-12 months I hope for that to shift.

I created this short 4 question form which will be a key input in understanding how I connect with a growing audience.

Would LOVE if everyone filled that out!

The big reveal

I’m still new to the newsletter game and doing a lot of hands-on learning. Most people are familiar with Substack as that has gained popularity over the years, but beehiiv is a newer player on the scene. One differentiator for Substack is their mobile app, which I was surprised to learn beehiiv doesn’t have..

UNTIL..

Yeah yeah, not that exciting, I get it. But I for one was pumped when I saw this..

Shoutout to my REAL OGs who want to cozy up to this content! 🤗🧸🧣🍂

It is of course subject to user preference whether you choose to read via email or in a web browser, but if you find yourself in the latter camp, this can be a great option. It seems like beehiiv may be working out some kinks, but I’m curious if y’all can successfully complete the setup. LMK in the comments! 🙏🙏🙏

May the favor of the Lord our God be upon you, to establish the work of your hands,
